I have finished another journal. This one started a month into the COVID-19 pandemic (the shut-down part anyway), and lasted until today. Boy did a lot take place over these past six months...
I have a stack of these journals - in various shapes and sizes - from over the years. There's something about handwriting that I like. And, as a left-handed writer, I especially like these flip up moleskine notepads. Daughter Carrie has given me a couple, and they are much easier to write in than the traditional left-to-right openers.
At any rate, it occurred to me the other day... I mentioned that I am a writer because I write. I'm not sure that's entirely true. Yes, I do write. But I am much more of a 'journaler.' I would like to be a writer - crafting stories, doing research, proving points and whatnot. And I do make attempts at creating good introductions or catchy titles from time to time. I'm more of a hack, though, and, honestly, probably too lazy to be considered even an amateur writer. I just journal, and that's okay.

"Before sunrise I call to you for help;
I place my hope in your promise."
