Ford escape service and new ball joint

I took my 2011 Ford Escape in for an oil change on my birthday. I dropped it off at the place we always used to take our cars for service on Pettit Street. Since I didn't have to work I could get it in and not have to worry about how to get to and from work. I just walked there and back from home since it's only 2.3 miles (I actually ran there to pick it up - first run since the marathon).

Anyway, as per usual, it needed more than an oil change. They recommended several things: change the wiper blades, transmission fluid, spark plugs, and such. What I did have them do was replace the right front ball joint, rotate the tires, and do an alignment. Total cost was $418.07.

Ironically, it was almost a year ago when I last had the oil changed (Oct. 21), and it had been almost a year exactly since the time before that! We don't put near as many miles on the cars anymore, and I'm okay with that. The Escape currently has just over 101,000 miles on it. It's been a good vehicle and I like driving it.

"Teach me to do your will,
    for you are my God;
may your good Spirit
