I am not totally against guns. In fact, we bought a couple of them recently. :)
I've been looking into percussive therapy guns for a while, and finally bit the bullet on a Theragun Elite. While not the cheapest, it consistently rated among the best overall, and is still less expensive than some. They are currently on sale, plus by purchasing this or the next level up, it came with the option to also get the Theragun mini for only $50 (instead of $199). So we got both.
After reading where these are essentially as good as a massage, I figure it will save us money in the long run (at least for me). Even though I know I need an occasional massage as an avid runner, it just seems like such a hassle, expense, and I have to say it's not my favorite thing in the world to have somebody touching me all over! These guns were actually invented by a chiropractor who needed physical therapy, so he figured out a way to do it by himself.
So far I have loved it! My calves and right foot had been giving me problems, and already they are both feeling so much better. The first couple times I used it I was barely able to touch my calves because they were so sore. Now they feel fine! We've also started doing an all-over treatment before we go to bed and it is soooooo relaxing. I think it has helped me sleep better.
While I'm not a big fan of the app (because I'm not a big fan of apps), their website does offer quite a few resources. Some of my favorites are:
So, so far I have no regrets. This is not only helping with sore and tired legs and feet, but actually helping me get through each day period.
