Don't you hate it when people ask, "So what are you good at? What are your strengths?" Like, I don't know! Am I good at anything?!?
For most of us it's harder to determine our strengths than our weaknesses.
I was looking through some of my coaching materials the other day and was reminded of this gem from Jane Creswell (which I posted HERE):
"A good way to determine your strengths is to start noticing what irritates you about how others operate."
Her reasoning: Since our strengths are so basic to us that we erroneously think everyone else possesses the same ones, we will become frustrated with others when they don't display the behaviors that fit what we consider to be "normal." Now, granted, some people are just irritating. However, if you start to notice a pattern to the things that irritate you... that could give you a clue as to what your strengths are!
